Potli masala literaly means bag of spices. It consists of more than 10 spices and herbs. These herbs are medicinal and aromatic. These are put in a bag or cloth, then put into slow simmering dishes or liquids. So, that the flavors are infused into them gradualy over a period of time. Potli masala is used to flavour dishes such as Nihari, Paya, Haleem etc. These are considered healthy broths.

Equipment
- Muslin cloth or Nut milk sac
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp clove
- 1/2 tbsp cubeb pepper
- 1/2 tbsp black peppercorn
- 1/2 tbsp fennel seed
- 2 bayleaf large
- 1/2 gram nutmeg
- 1 tbsp black cumin
- 2 black cardomomn crushed
- 12 green cardomomn crushed
- 2 tsp dry rose petal
- 2 blade mace
- 5 gram camel grass
- 1 tbsp dry hybiscus Petal
- 2 Star anise
- 3 stick cinamon 1 inch each
- 8 gram spike ginger lily
- 6 gram Alpinia galanga wild (paan jad, kulanjan)
- 1/2 gram sandal wood powder
Instructions
- Put all the ingridients in a muslin cloth or nutmilk sac.
- Use this as teabag to infuse flavors into your dish
